In Newark I grew up on Bragman's over on Hawthorne ave (Charlie special was my go to). Hobby's on Brandford Place downtown is another staple in Newark. (I always preferred their burgers more so then their sandwiches). Never messed with Coopers too tough. Especially the spot on Grove st, where they had the feens nodding off, handling the meat :francis:

In NYC Katz hands down got the crown imo. I always get the pastrami reuben on a roll when I head over there. They have a smaller version of Katz over in Albee Square if you don't wanna deal with the hustle and bustle of the main spot. Speaking of Brooklyn, you got David's on Nostrand which is ok but they're hit or miss imo. I only been to 2nd ave deli once but that was over 20 years ago so I forgot how their pastrami is.

Funny enough my favorite deli isn’t even in the hood. It’s King Express Deli on Avenue U and East 18th street in sheepshead bay Brooklyn.

Amazing halal food and chopped cheese. And they got an abundance of junk food you won’t find at other delis lol
I always believe the junk food and sodas are what makes the local deli's around the way extra special

Thank you breh, i just moved to bloomfield from the bronx. As you know im right next to newark so ima check those out

Golden deli on 137th street and broadway in harlem are infamous uptown for their philly cheese steaks and salads. Hero Sandwiches are 6 bucks n come with a free can/bottle water

Of course theres Harlem taste aka Hajjis on 110th and 1st ave. They are known for creating the chop cheese, after having it myself twice they got it on smash. They make sure their lettuce/tomatos and bread are super fresh n that makes a huge difference when dealing with delis in nyc

Katz pastrami sandwich is G.O.A.T status.

Outside of the hood joints that I fukk wit I like this spot in Astoria. They are known for their sandwich called the bomb, but they have many fire sandwiches and they’re huge for about 15 cash

Call me bougie but I never was into getting my pastrami and cheese sandwiches from the local bodega or corner store spots. The papis and arabs could never get the cut of the meat right to my liking. I would always deal with the ones who catered strictly towards that (Bragmans, Hobby’s)

I was in Newark over the weekend and the amount of drug dealers selling drugs on the street was astonishing. :mjlol:

:ohhh:Just googled because you mentioned Nostrand, Never knew the name of this spot always referred to it as the corned beef spot down the block from my aunt crib, I haven’t been there in years tho
