the ones around my way are ok but I prefer the delis uptown

Sandwiches Unlimited on Central Ave does pastrami and corn beef but I only have gotten an Italian cheeseburger or cheesesteak from there.

Thank you breh, i just moved to bloomfield from the bronx. As you know im right next to newark so ima check those out

Golden deli on 137th street and broadway in harlem are infamous uptown for their philly cheese steaks and salads. Hero Sandwiches are 6 bucks n come with a free can/bottle water

Of course theres Harlem taste aka Hajjis on 110th and 1st ave. They are known for creating the chop cheese, after having it myself twice they got it on smash. They make sure their lettuce/tomatos and bread are super fresh n that makes a huge difference when dealing with delis in nyc

Katz pastrami sandwich is G.O.A.T status.
Since you're more close to North Newark (which is predominately Puerto Rican and Dominican) you can see if they have other spots (which I'm sure they do) over on either the bloomfield ave or park ave side. The ironbound section (which is predominately Brazilian and Ecuadorian) have delis too but I can't vouch because I never been. Off topic a lil bit, in North Newark they have an Italian Hot Dog and Pizza spot on Bloomfield ave called dikkie Dees you can check out. Also in the ironbound section on Wilson ave, is my favorite Burger spot called Krugs tavern. On some Sundays during the fall season, I would take my son over there if the wife wasn't cooking and we would eat and watch the football games. During soccer (futbol) season tho, that spot would be turned up with Brazilians, Spaniards, and Mexicans all repping their teams/countries.

Lioni's Italian Heroes in Bay Ridge

Katz Deli

Both are super expensive for just a fukking sandwich but I'm fairly certain you won't care after you body one by yourself and you're sitting there on the couch approaching your food coma

I recommend the Alisa Milano from Lioni's and Katz....eh...everything is pretty good at Katz but expensive as fukk because of the name. I like the Brisket + Pastrami together with a little mustard.

Also they need to be eaten right away...The Lioni's travels well as long as you keep it on the foil but the Katz will be soggy within an hour or so so...

Word Katz is expensive as shyt but it's worth every penny. I started fukking with Katz back in my early 20's (late 90's) and its been my favorite since. As I said on here, I usually get the pastrami reuben or pastrami + corn beef with melted cheese on a roll. And you right, you have to eat it right there. Can't wait too long or it won't taste the same.

Just a note, Hobby's been closed since the pandemic. I saw on their IG that they are waiting for the building permits
