My go to sandwich is hot BBQ Brisket, Cheddar cheese, hot pickles, sweet peppers, banana peppers onions, with Georgia mustard BBQ sauce on it.

Delicious.

For some reason the most commonly ordered sandwich in New York never gets mentioned as a stereotypical New York sandwich. That turkey/honey turkey+mayo+tomato+cheese+lettuce+oil+vinegar combo

We call that the papi sandwich/bodega sandwich out in NJ.

Yeah, a real reuben uses rye bread, which I normally find to taste gross, but is great when properly used with the reuben's other ingredients.

Also, some places use too much meat (there is such a thing ) or to little kraut or thousand island.


I've only had a handful of truly great reubens in my life and still haven't found a good one locally despite living in an area with so many great restaurants.

- thin layer of Miracle Whip (thin, dammit)
- toasted bread (any kind)

I don't know how anybody fukks with American cheese. shyt is so bland. Get some cheddar instead. And Swiss cheese is the worst
