My guess would be America pre 1940s but post 1865 just more extreme.
Can one explain what living under far right rule would be? I think that would help out.
I doubt we'd ever see a real far right autocracy like the Third Reich. because that would completely go against the ethos of this country.(eventhough hitler is an inspiration to many on the extreme far right.)
The closest thing we would have to that would be a far right President, Supreme Court and Congress that strip out all of the federal civil rights protections.
Which would then trickle down to the state level and the private sector leading to state sanctioned racism on the books and more racism in the private sector.
Which means if God forbid,, you're having heart attack or were in an accident, the hospital can deny you treatment.
They're federally protected after all.
And considering how vindictive this new generation of Republicans are, I can see them taking it a step further by signing a bill protecting police from prosecution for hate crimes.
So the police can kill, maim and torture minorities and not even think Twice about it. And not do any time.
Again They're federally protected after all.
And let's not even get into restricting funding to "leberals" and minority areas.
I can go on and on.
Thats why some folks in the thread sound kinda stupid because, despite the racism that does exist on the ground level in this country, on the books we are still technically federally protected by those laws.
If we weren't, the case against the McMichaels for killing Ahmud Arbury would not have even gone to court.
It can get much worse than it is now.
But I doubt it'll ever happen. It'd be too bloody and so bad for business, that the pendulum would just swing the other direction before it gets that bad.
