I wasn't born yet, but I knew there was a good chance Big was next. Life After Death was about to come out, so he was already getting his affairs in order. :troll:

It's kinda like my experience with both deaths. I was at marine Corps bootcamp in September 96 when our Drill Instructor of all ppl came in to the squad bay and was like who like that "Tew Pack Shaker?" Some of us including me raised our hands. Then he said we'll that muthafuka is dead and good riddance. We didn't even know about the shooting at that point. He just came I'm on September 14th and announced his death.

Fast fwd to Biggie's death we were in NC, Camp Lejune and we watched the broadcast of the Soul Train awards in the barracks and I remember when Biggie came up to present and did the "what up Cali?", thing and the demographics of our barracks room was me the 1 Texas breh and a Louisiana cat, an Alabama cat, and a cat from South Carolina. So naturally we were on some fukk Biggie shyt too. Then the next morning we all saw the scroll on MTV about Biggie. Then MTV news immediately came on as it did that entire day like a "Breaking News" type thing. But the main thing we all said was WTF was he in California for anyways he should have known better.
I was at MEPS on September 6, 1996 on a friday. It was the day I signed up for the Army. The 7th was Tyson vs Seldon when 2pac got shot. I got everything handled at home and went to basic training in 97 months later

Majority of you bozos in this thread wasn’t even around when Pac died…

I was and no nobody thought big would be next because the media(urban radio) stopped with that east coast west coast beef shyt and being instigators where people was calling them out for that shyt and blaming them for PACs death..

On the west coast you could have given any preteen, a gun and they would have shot biggie on-site.
nikkas was at school bawling for days mourningpac’s death and nikkas were furious. Yes we knew that nikka was going to die… and most of the west coast ain’t buy his album until after he was dead.

No.

But Puff served him up on a silver platter by having him come to LA

They showed up and started acting like it was all good. The more foolish thing was bringing the whole label + staff out there. If BIG didn’t get killed it would’ve been someone else in the crew. BIG was unlucky and dude driving his truck didn’t follow instructions to run all red lights. Getting a red light ticket is better than catching a bullet.

I was about 15 at the time, but no, I didn’t think that BIG was “next” after PAC got shot. I did watch the ‘97 Soul Train Awards with my family (including my Aunt, who was WAY into Hip Hop & R&B and went to Howard around the same time that Diddy did), and we were shocked when we saw Biggie on stage getting booed. My Aunt, said something like: “It would be just like Puffy, to act reckless with other people’s lives, and make a quick buck doing so”. “They should get the fukk outta Cali, while they still have the means to do so”. I didn’t pay much attention to what that meant specifically, until not more than a day later, when I turned on MTV, and they had the scroll across the screen announcing Biggie’s murder.

Bad Boy was on top of the world from Sept 96 to March 97

It was always within the realm of possibility that BIG would be hit but no one thought Puff was dumb enough to send his label to LA

Bodies were dropping in Compton and it was all centered around Pac dying...

I do vividly remember after BIG died, ppl thought Snoop, Kim, Puff or Nas would be next

Yeah, after BIG died, everyone was PREDICTING who was gonna get clapped next. Then Farrakhan stepped in along with Puff and Snoop to diffuse the whole anger, and LA was a no fly zone for east coast rappers until the year 2000.
