I played basketball growing up and being the PG/set up man is easy. My best game ever was one where I was like Magic Johnson on the court with the assists. I was good at PG but I didn't like it.

I preferred scoring. bytches noticed it more and it was harder to do. Its a lot more difficult to break and team down and score the ball yourself than to break down the defense and pass the ball putting pressure on the other guy to hit a shot.

Stop acting like every assist is a play where you give a guy an open layup. Most assists are simply as a result of being the last guy to pass the ball before a guy scores.

Assist = easiest stat in basketball

Lets just say that scoring 40 points is way more impressive than getting 15 assists.

i was magic on the court but i preferred scoring because of bytches brehs :dead:

Anyone with some athleticism and a little bounce can drive into the lane and collapse defenses. But it takes a special type of player to be able to break down defenses and identify the correct person to pass.

You don't average 10 assists a game by swinging the ball at the top of the key all game.

The PG position ain't for dummies. There's a reason so many head coaches are ex-PG's

One of the best passers to ever grace the hardwood.

NBA Title
4x All-Star
All-NBA Third Team
2x All-NBA Defense 1st Team
2x All-NBA Defense 2nd Team
3x Assists Title
Steals Title
NBA All-Rookie Second Team

All before he blew out his knee at 28 years old, clearly on a HoF pace. Also, one of the best playoff performers of his generation, practically averaged a triple double in the '09 Playoffs when KG was injured, averaged 17/7/12 and eviscerated the Big 3 Miami Heat. Even a washed Rondo on Chicago was leading the Bulls to wins in the playoffs.

If Lonzo turns out to be a Rondo-type with the ability to hit threes with range and finish above the rim in transition like he showed at UCLA, we got ourselves a hell of a PG. :wow:

Rondo played defense.

Assists are the weakest stat in basketball. Its totally dependent on what someone else does.

There is a reason scoring is the hardest thing to do in basketball. Its all on you.

As Jay-Z said, I respect the shooter.
How can it be TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON WHAT SOMEONE ELSE DOES... if the person who gives the assist DOES SOMETHING: namely put the ball and the team mate in a place where points can be scored.

Scoring always gets credit of course, but to say the assist plays no role..

That's just letting me know his teammates helped make his stats for from :scusthov: to :picard:.

What the media is doing with Lonzo Ball right now is exact same thing they did with Reggie Bush. They ignored his weak rushing totals and focused on his "touches" and all purpose yards.:mjpls:

It's seems like assists only get pointed out and highlighted when certain players do it.

How old are you?
