sales talk is just another thing to talk about.. honestly, i don't really care a whole lot one way or the other... let's remember that right now we have a thread upped in the booth about jay-z swimming... what does jay-z's ability to swim or not swim have to do with his ability to make dope music? nothing... yet, it's okay that we discuss that... we can discuss his cars, house, women he's fukked, beyonce, movie appearances, how much money he has, business ventures, on and on and on... the second we mention sales, we've upset krs one... no disrespect to krs or @Shammago but if we call talk about how jay-z looks like a camel, we can talk about his record sales and anybody else's for that matter..... fukk what krs thinks on the subject....
Those threads are comedy relief. Im saying this is a hip hop and the sales thread has more replies than the leak album thread. People rush to give their shytty opinion on why an album flopped....watch 2 chainz album sales thread. It will say the same shyt they been saying about every other artist.

i mostly agree with what you're saying... and yes i know the jay-z thread was comedy relief... however, there are far too many people on this site invested in every aspect of an artist and it is seen as fine and dandy as long as you don't talk about sales... talking about sales is the same as talking about any other aspect of an artist's life besides the music.... with that said, again i mostly agree with you, and too many cats act like a&r professionals... but let's also admit, the same cats act as if they know what constitutes "street cred" when they've never been in the streets, or act as if they know what a good fashion look is when they dress like bums, or act as if they know what it's like to have the hottest woman on their shoulders when their dating roseanne barr lookalikes... it's all the same thing...

I agree...I dont post in those thread. I come here to discuss music and find new music. It use to be like that until recently. Im paying for google music all access and want to discover new artist. Looks at the front page and see nothing but bullshyt threads.

since rappers, the mainstream minded ones, who let the industry indulge in and hide their hands in a conflict of interest about record sales.
all tried to act like some cold ass hustler, to the point they had money regardless of a record deal.
that attitude was deflected onto well, if you go so much money put out your records on your own.

since you know how to use other people's money so well.
why did you not use all this money from hustling and your ability to use other people's money so well to your benefit sales wise.

the labels deflected record sales purposefully on to the artist, by doing this.
so, now...
it is not the label's fault like it should be to sell their actual product, or the artist's album.
it is the caked up egotistical rapper who has money already, and such a so-called grasp on business administration.
the artist is being blamed, erroneously.
rappers got it bad, letting labels transpose that whole erroneous mindset onto the industry using rap.
so, now...a label really does not have to really do anything.
all they have to do is fukk it up, and perception is gonna say..
you the artist are the dummy, and the label is the smart provider of a loan.
more bullshyt, allowed in the entire record industry that spells disaster for the people who make the product.

The biggest current example of a record label messing up is def jam with 2chainz album. Where da fukk is the second single/promotion? This dude dropped several billboard charting singles last time and now he gets no support?
