When and what made you start to take life seriously?

Almost being homeless from being reckless and coming to a reality that my parents are going to die soon and it will be up to me and solely me to make sure I secure shelters food, and a decent standard of living.

All our parents are going to die this is just a fact. I refused to have a dependent mindset so when it clicked I looked at life differently.

Some people still live life as if their parents or family is going to bail them or provide a security net eberytime they fail.

Shock factor. Shortly after highschool, i was working a slightly above minimum wage job, when the dude i used to chop-it-up with everyday came in to work and announced to the crew that he had just finished airline pilot school.


Not a single person on the job knew he was doing it either. 2weeks later, dude was interning with Southwest. Made me question how seriously i was taking my life. Afterwards, i opened books in earnest and never looked back.



Now, if i ever finish this PHD...

Answered a thread like this not too long ago but getting stabbed in the back, blamed for it, and everyone turning their back on me (including my ex).

It made me realize nobody really gives a fukk about you and life goes on with or without them.
