yeah that book might honestly be the most disturbing literature I read as a youngin. I eventually had to stop reading DG as you already knew that shyt wasn't going to end well

Haha, I never read 'Dope Fiend', but the power of literature to influence a young mind is fascinating....I did read 'The Basketball Diaries', about age 13, which repulsed me, and shook me up, and 'Requiem For a Dream', as well as a dozen other books about heroin, I never did that, though I did a lot of coke for years as a kid. Friends of mine went another way.

I've never read Basketball Diaries but I did see the movie.

Yeah, it took a good minute for me to shake myself from that book.

Everything was all bad.

I thank God I read Dope Fiend by Donald Goines when I was a shorty.



I learned everything I needed to know about dope from that book, and made the decision I would never sell that shyt or fukk with it
