But we’re supposed to feel for the wannabe petit bourgeois class when they feel just a FRACTION of what the average poor person goes through on the daily :camby:

This is all over a company making monumentally stupid business decisions and letting their employees take the fall.

If you ever have the opportunity to work for yourself, do it.

Also, if you have a cushy Union job with 18 weeks severance, don't trade it in to work for a non union tech company unless you're moving from entry level to executive level or something huge like that.

Tossed him in the garbage like a used kleenex. Went from 18 weeks severance to 2 weeks severance. gaaaaat dayum!

Facts….they may be fully out of business a few years from now too…

don’t understand the point you’re trying to make.
There’s a class of workers in the US who are shielded from the true struggles of the poor and working poor. Being fired and laid off is the norm. No one is in an uproar about that.

These types are silent as fukk when it comes to these issues. Hell, a lot of the professional class is either directly or indirectly responsible for managing slave labor. Yet, when some blue check professional gets personally effected then they want to make it an issue. Not to fundamentally change anything, but often as a selfish tactic to get another job offer quicker.

So fukk that bytch, she’ll be alright. Maybe if she stopped living beyond her means with her 6 figure salary and read the contract, she wouldn’t have this issue.

So again, was this a genuine question or just you being purposely obtuse to try and win internet points? :unimpressed:

Your post just comes off like you’re hating/mad because someone makes 6 figures and making assumptions on their lifestyle as you did in regard to my post.

I disagree with you but you have the right to your opinion.

what? Anyone can get laid off. No one is immune to downsizing/restructuring.
In my industry the people that get laid off are the people with no licensing. I'm in insurance and claims Adjusters and sales agents have to be licensed and never get laid off. The insurance industry cuts high paying jobs that are not those positions. Same shyt with teachers, the school district will cut many high paying non teacher jobs and not lay off teachers and teachers are licensed/certified. These are just two examples of knowing which types of careers are less likely to lay you off. Glad I married a school teacher. The boring careers have stability and the exciting sounding shyt like working for Apple, Netflix or any tech companies you'll find yourself in the unemployment line.

the thing is stability vs salary. Teachers never get laid off but thry have a ceiling. In Canada teachers ceiling is 100k or do unless they been working for ages. Whereas in IT, finance, etc sky is the limit do I guess there’s a trade off there. But if you are unfitsble and making bank then thats the dream

Layoffs suck but are part of the business but some companies at least help their staff out with a decent package. This broad 2 weeks which is a slap in the face for a big company and what seemed like a higher level position.

companies never see the bigger picture. Thry only see their bottom line but forget that the public can make decisions based on how companies treat their employees especially after price gouging. That is beg publicity you want to avoid.

Certain companies I will never work for or buy from based off of hoe thry treat staff, customers and if they got gov handouts and did shady shyt.

Cats are missing the point. You can't trust these private companies for shyt.

She's dumb as hell for leaving that Union job though.

Bingo! Think about all the shyt these companies say. Talking about inclusion, diversity, putting employees first, blah blah blah. They all operate the same. Some are kinder than others, but some employees forget that companies are here to make money. They don't give a shyt about you, no matter what they say. Unions keep companies honest. I know folk hate unions but they're here for a reason. IMO if a company is not providing decent severance, non-union, or good time-off benefits then they need to pay a hell of a lot more.

Even the employment laws are bullshyt.

If she went to a huge company like Netflix and got laid off 6 weeks later, I feel like something must’ve gotten missed or lost in the communication process of the job description and interview.

Had to be some type of experimental team/department, no?
