i disagree, and how you post celly cell when the beatr is jacked from keith sweat is beyond me. 415 had some NWA sounding shyt i guess, but they're hardly the representative sound from that era in the bay

this type of mob music is way more representative of bay music in that era

and in any case, i was talking about more recent sounds

:what:

the idea of the sample is that it was G-Funkable.

so samples were only a g-funk thing :usure: coulda swore the east coast was sampling as well and not making anything sounding like g-funk, too short was taking samples before the whole g-funk era took off....but i truly did not post in here to argue this, i was going along with the irrational posting of the OP

Lol Drill music is just gangsta rap on a trap beat with more gun talk. But drill didnt even start as a subgenre of music.

A nikka by the name of Pac Man who was like the 4th member of the LEP Bogus boys came up with the word "drill" and somehow cats throughout chicago started using it in their music.

Him, king louie, were the ones that made it popular.

He's talking about electronic music Trap.

Youtube it for lolz.

edit: actually you don't even have to youtube, that harlem shake song, they call it trap music, its the #1 single right now. what he's trying to say is that chitown artists had the audacity to at least change the name, and pay hommage, but that cacs are straight stealing the actual name and tagline. man some of yall have reading comprehension problems.

there's absolutely no way that sound is going to get into rap. its too 'happy' and the melodies dont go with rapping about killing and selling dope.

edm trap has a happy vibe because suburban kids are happy, live in a happy world. drill/trap sound is dark and grimey. music comes from the soul, and neither of those 2 can really cross each other.

i do find it annoying they bit the name tho. but this isn't like the old days, we all know where the name and sound came from, we have the internet, information is raced across the country within a few minutes.

cacs been doing this with music since we got to the country. even country music comes from african folk songs modified by the scottish immigrants. they'll swear up and down it came from europe, but unfortunately we didn't have the internet back then to fact check them, so they'll call it a 'fusion', but the present day trend and how they do it til today should be a clear indication of the truth.

Definitely feeling the first two :whew:

I cant say that listening to these 4 told me what exactly "drill music" is, though. Is it more of a content (ie: self-referencing and saying "drill" in the songs) type-of-thing? :heh:

Basically a more droned-out version of trap muisc with more gun talk really:manny:

Those tracks I posted are a few years old btw.

Yeah even the banjo has its origins in Africa, but i bet hardly anyone knows this (or cares)

Country music is nothing But the white version of blues music. The lyrics have pretty much similar subject matter

I'm not a fan of drill music,
But that's not going to stop them from putting it out.
For the record,
The Bay pioneered that trap sound since the late 80's-early 90's.
