When deciding which games are of interest, who do you listen to?

So how do you know what to get? You are only an expert on games you have already mastered, and nobody wants to play the same game, so unless you play, you gotta base your decision off of people you have followed over the years. Ign, kotaku.. Before that it was egm and gamepro

Nowadays it's forums and fanboys and with any group of fanboys, they will have people that are considered leaders. Now, just because you're a fan doesn't = fanboy. You gotta lie and its gotta be mandatory. Sure, there will be holes in your online persona. Comes with the fanboy territory. So let me showcase the difference.
