all dudes want is either a club joint or something they can sit and listen to on their comps and imagine being a club joint.
also for whatever reason if you repeat a hook enough times it miraculously gets catchy and that's what sells is a record that gets stuck in people's heads.

Someone post that video about how being lyrical is actually the only way to get to the top of the game.

2 out of the 3 biggest rappers are Cole and Kendrick stop talking out of your fukking ass.
And when has simple and catchy hooks not been the driving factor for hits?

That lyrical rap isn't appreciated (or worse a sin) is straight bs. The biggest rappers are lyrical, biggest indie rappers too. You can't focus on hits to judge the state of hip hop in the 2010s and benchmark it against other periods in hip hop and exclude the hit songs.

Yes they did when gangster rap became popular. There's also a lot more music for the people that like turnt up music today and obviously a lot more fans of it. People have more choices and some hate on what isn't their choice. Due to the internet, peoples voices are louder.

Cause when the South blew up, listening get to 16 bar verses became too hard for the Crack babies :francis:

Now you got these simp ass dudes and thot ass hoes that hate anything lyrical. Cats got brainwashed into thinking that rap gotta be c00n nursery rhyme music that hoes gotta like to listen to.
