Look at it this way, HL is about 15% the Size of the Coliseum and about 11% the size of the Locker Room.

Higher Learning has a pretty liberal tilt and about 15% of eligible liberal voters participate in presidential primaries.

It's safe to say the discussion surrounding the Dem primaries on the Coli aren't too far off from the discussions in real life.

Further, but more importantly, it doesn't matter if all Americans use Twitter or even every voting American uses Twitter.

The question is rather does Twitter make up an accurate cross section of American voters.

I've yet to see any data showing it doesn't.

My husband isnt on social media at all and he hates Bernie supporters. Both of us are involved locally, him more so than me and the way they act online is the EXACT way they act in person when you disagree with them. But let them keep being dismissive of the criticism and saying its not real. It only hurts them. I call white Bernie Bros, MAGA lite. They'll call you a nicca, quick. I remember in 2016 one of them told me the way the DNC did Bernie was just as bad as Jim Crow. They havent changed one and actually got more aggressive. He will never grow his base.

And rapbeats, dont respond to me with no 10 paragraphs of caping. I'm not reading it.
I dont be at rallies and shyt like that

If this is a thing in real life, I get it then

If the internet was real

Nikkas would be aping for trans rights in real life
Ppl would always be talking about ADOS
You clearly dont participate in real life if you don't think there has been a push for Trans rights.

Have you seen any of the Dwade threads?

Why do we care if politicians supporters are mean on the internet?:stopitslime:

Most ppl ain't on twitter like that

This is the danger of Twitter and media being on it and growing up on it

False shytty narratives
the most engaged supporters/surrogates for candidates definitely are online, and the interactions and brand built online influence information that's disseminated offline. the media/media figures are also online, so if they see negative behavior/get attacked, it makes it into news segments, YT videos, blogs and articles that reach millions of others who don't directly engage in it, but now know about it...then add in the cesspool that comment sections can be on those articles/videos.

it's not really about the number of people directly engaged in twitter/reddit wars, it's how that information gets carried to broader communication platforms and brands campaigns to the wider electorate.

I havent attended a rally either. We have community meetings and of course supporters of all candidates attend. The ones that are not in my neighborhood and are more diverse is where you get the idiots. Granted, not all of them are like that, most you can have decent conversations with even if they never concede any points but like product reviews, the negative ones get the most attention.

There are plenty of rational people on Twitter. They just aren't trending.

If you'd like a parallel, there's plenty of good things that happen in my city every day. But that's not what's on the news.

You seems to be making an argument that because it isn't the majority of people it doesn't matter. And then if it is, so what, because the majority of people on the internet aren't the majority of people in real life. This is a slippery slope don't you think?

Don't we also condemn Trump supporters for failing to condemn NeoNazis and NeoConfederates co-opting their brand?

I have no problem whatsoever blaming a politicians supporters when that politician is in favor of bad policy.

Don't conflate that with narcissists with their heads stuck up their asses who will happily hasten a decline in their standard of living and life expectancies because a stranger living 3,000 miles away from them typed at them in all caps.
