I think y'all are overlooking something obvious. Busta is a hothead who is constantly moving around wearing large shiny jewelry. Trained security is probably even more expensive if you've already had a security person die on duty. Even before that incident Busta was the first rapper that I can remember where a story about him getting robbed made the news. He attracts a lot of attention, so if he's making an appearance and it's not a red carpet event (no pun intended) he can just tap in with some local crash outs. Busta is paying someone but I bet it's a whole lot less than what trained people charge.

There isn't any desire to be more like the West Coast. There isn't anything real in the way of brotherhood Busta could offer or receive from this. Busta gets to stay safe and look more powerful. Jim Jones pretty much gave these guys the blueprint.
