I saw that coach was a dub was around 07ish. By then they done changed the pattern from their signature and it seemed as if they aimed at a younger demographic and stepped more into a more casual. Started to see young teeny boppers wearing coach.
When all the hood chicks started wearing it. They also opened a bunch of factory stores in the outlet malls, with cheaper, lower quality merchandise, so it's not as prestigious as it was back in the day.

I have Coach bags you'd never know were Coach, bought from the Fifth Ave store here. The last one I got, I kept it in the bag for a week, just taking it out to caress the leather.
