Let me start off by saying calisthenics absolutely do work and should definitely be a part of your workout routine! My issue is the people on here starting to spew nonsense like calisthenics is all you need and you don’t need to do nothing else. And also saying it will get you bigger than weights. Them big brolic ass “calisthenics only” dudes yall post from YouTube initially got that big because of weights.

It’s easier to start a basic calisthenics routine than a weight program. You combine that w/ noob gains and watching them brolic cats on YouTube and Instagram who have been doing 1000s of reps per days for years. Which results in someone who never worked out thinking they found the secret to getting big because they got the quick result.

Or to phrase it differently, if you look at a cat like Arnold in his prime, or the Rock or any big ass guy who lifts weights. It’s easy to get discouraged because of lack of equipment or time. Then they see a huge brolic guy, and that dude is saying he got that big only doing push-ups. And think, Well shyt, I can do push-ups too and get that big, not realizing it probably takes more work to get that big.

HELL
How are defining basic? Cuz if it’s just push-ups, pull-ups and air squats. You can do most of that shyt in your home. Weights/gym
Membership cost more.
The average person, especially starting out, can't pull up their body weight more than once or twice.

But they can easily start with light weights. Planet Fitness changed the game for $10 a month

I feel like we’re not that far apart. It’s still generally a bigger commitment to get out of the house and go to the gym than something you can do in your living room.

Sh1ts crazy... I know dudes that only do calisthenics and you can't tell they lift unless they're wearing a wife beater. You're not getting swole doing only bw exercises. My friends that do full body programs three times a week and bigger and stronger than the two guys I know that do hundreds of push ups and a gang of pull ups everyday.

Exactly:russ: the average person off the street couldn’t do a pull-up , chin-up or dip If you put a gun to their head. That same person could do light lat pull downs and bench presses:yeshrug:
