I think they are all business partners, and now that Drake and Nicki are more established artists they are doing their own thing.

Now days everybody wants their own label and to be management behind the scenes. Even traditionally good artists generally have a nice two or three album run and fall off. There is a lot more long term longevity in production, songwriting, managing talent, being a label CEO and executive etc.
