He talked about it in interviews before. He made some bad choices in doing movies just for the cash and he started making family friendly movies. Now he's just older with a bunch of kids and chills out. He's got a private island in the Bahamas, nice lifestyle and is sitting on like 300 mil. Would you do anything?

Got too big. Nobody can sustain that level of fame. His standup on cable, Saturday Night Live, Trading Places, 48 Hours, Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop - all these hit in the space of few years and all were huge crossover successes.

He also got caught out there in some tranny shyt so he had to stay low for a while and let the heat die down.

I’d have a hard time looking at where he is now and saying he “fell off.” He certainly changed, and may not be the same comedian from the delirious and raw days some of us remember him from. But as a product of 80s Hollywood comedy, and at his age, in his position, w the wealth and success (and most importantly, health) he has accumulated and maintained, he should rest comfortably claiming his biggest regret was making a bunch of “sell out” family style hit movies that made bank. His comedic contemporaries are either dead, or flabby and sick, or trailing him in some physical and/or financial way or another. In my mind he played the game right before it had a chance to play him. And Kevin hart can be Kevin hart because Eddie did it first.

He fell off after Boomerang and got back on track with Nutty Professor.
In between those years......In Living Colour/ Def Comedy Jam changed comedy , and launched several new and funny comedians.
Eddie didn't release a standup special after Raw.People forgot just how talented he was..and supported the new crop of comedians. Eddie couldn't build on the momentum of his comeback film "Nutty Professor" & started releasing wack films , family friendly films, and voice overs for animated films.
