Eddie showed crazy range in that joint. It's a story within a story. Hard to comment without giving the story away. Give it a view of you find some down time.
This. I played off until my ex and I sat down and watched it. :mjcry:

Ironically, no other actor could have played that role as good as him and he literally adr that movie but cacs hate on him and love all in the same breath. The epitome of underrated.

I've always said he paved the way for Tyler Perry, Tyler just took Eddie's model and took it to the next level.

Eddie was the first mainstream actor I knew to play multiple characters in his movies. He dabbled in it in Coming to America, and adopted it full on in the Nutty Professor.

He kinda switched up the game in his later years and start doing more family themed movies that didn't appeal to the same audiences his earlier work did.

Exactly. Eddie was trying to go back to his funny guy roots with Tower Heist but that didn’t pan out. I still don’t understand why it wasn’t a terrible movie... maybe too many cooks in the kitchen to equally support the movie.

One he’s older. Two, he doesn’t really have the eye of the tiger that he had in his youth. Three, he’s sitting on enough money to be chill for the rest of his life. Four, he’s said that he could do stand up again, but it’s a process. It’s months and years on the road. Performing at comedy clubs and refining his act. The later is what he’s not totally feeling.

Sure he’s made some movies that are stinkers, but he’s made a ton of good ones. He’s going to eat well off of the residuals from those movies. He’s done enough to where he can chill until the next project comes along.

It was straight to me.:manny:

It obviously wasn't nearly as good as the first two, but it was an okay movie when judged by its own merits.
Eddie looked bored and phoned in his performance, this is coming from someone who thinks he’s the GOAT

Just like Will Smith, he'll have a run of bad or unpopular movies then come back with a hammer. Will's comeback is Aladdin. Eddie's will be this Dolemite movie I believe.

I don't know if dolemite will do it, but i agree that he is at a level like Will Smith where all you need is one more Banger and you back on top again.
