using my flabby n sick powers of memory i'm gonna go with 1986 b, which was the first year i got my jersey. in brooklyn the haircuts we all know today as the fade was originally called a "jersey" and all the drug dealer nikkas (and young mike tyson) were the first to rock them. but it still wasn't over for the scrappy hairlines because it wasn't like you were getting your hair cut once per week like nikkas do now. nah a 7 dollar chop ($10 with the tip) was expensive so if you got your joint cut every 2 and a half weeks your shyt could get ragged like mr. telephone man new edition and nobody would really trip
i'd venture to say that lineups really became common place in 1990 among those younger than 40. the over 40 crowd thought nothing to look like james baldwin circa 1968 but they were old so who cared. everything they did was mad funny and lame to us. but young folks yeah, you had to have a line up or get clowned. a GOOD litmus test is to look at the nba draft videos on youtube. i could be wrong but i say it's 1990 for me because that was the thug draft. derrick coleman, the glove, kendall gill, antonio davis, and mahmoud abdul rauf and all the line ups when they took the stage were crisp for back in the days standards. before that draft it got hella dicey lol. nikka 1984? LMAO OMG b stop it them shyts were egregious
