I was about to start a thread on this .. but not just about MTV, I wanted to know how many networks remain true to their original core programming mission ...

I mean MTV stopped playing music
SciFi turned to SyFy
Cartoon NEtwork is full of live shows.
Boomerang shows oldies from 5 years ago.
Aint a damn thing DIY on the DIY network... its always some contractor doing it.

-reality tv show boom of the 90s (i LOVE jackass, but it opened the door for a lot of junk)
-only playing videos on TRL (never even playing the full video usually)
-taking away the adult cartoons (beavis and butthead,etc.)
-taking away shows about different genres of music (headbangers ball) and playing only pop

the worst was when around 2000 they created MTV2 which was supposed to be all videos and music shows and it was for a while. then it started to become reruns of dating shows and eventually teen mom, jersey shore, etc. now its just the same as MTV and they even play movies on there with no real musical connection (Spider-Man, Rush Hour, Just Friends )

Even the sports stations done gone pop. I struggle to sit through a whole edition of SportsCenter or NFL Network. Thanks for PS4 I no longer have to drown myself in boredom while chillin' in da crib.
