I was about to start a thread on this .. but not just about MTV, I wanted to know how many networks remain true to their original core programming mission ...

I mean MTV stopped playing music
SciFi turned to SyFy
Cartoon NEtwork is full of live shows.
Boomerang shows oldies from 5 years ago.
Aint a damn thing DIY on the DIY network... its always some contractor doing it.
the list goes n..

The History Channel is about aliens and people with 'unique' jobs.

man its hard to imagine now but mtv in the 90's used to be dope

I mean they actually had some really dope programming! some really subversive stuff!

MTV started to fall off noticeably in 1996. 1993 - 1994 and some of 95 was the GOAT period.

i havent seen mtv since middle school which was about 2001. they started airing bs like sweet 16 and shows where rich people complain about nonsense while you have people in the real world who are really going through it. the only shows i watch are what's on pbs, 60 minutes, sports, flip this house/other DIY and television series.
