I remember playing TMNT: The Arcade Game for NES & everytime you touched a slice of pizza for health the little voice would go "Pizza Pie!"

I'm sure it's been referred to as pie since its inception but I hardly ever here it that way out here in LA & never heard it referred to as that in Chicago or ATL or Miami...

I'm guessing it's an East coast thing blooming...

I guess it's just short for pizza pie. People in NY say "slice" a lot too. Probably to differentiate the two because pizza parlors are so popular up there and people buy both. Here in DC it's just pizza. :ld:

When I moved to California a few years ago I'm in my apartment, just moved in so nothing was set up. My brother and his wife wanted a quick bite.

Google search a pizzaria.
Me: "Hi. Yeah could I get a small pie. Plain."
Guy: (Uncomfortable silence) We..um..well sell pizzas.
Me: :snoop: (sigh) Ok. May I have a plain cheese pizza, please?

fukkin literally had the :beli: face, hoping my annoyed self came thru on the phone.

FYI: California pizza is trash. And no I'm not gonna get into this shyt with you non NY baloney washers. You don't know what real pizza is and you never will.
