Worked with an asian dude in the Navy who persona was that of a ratchet bytch.
Anyone who grew up around black/puerto rican/dominican broads know exactly what he is talm bout.

But generally, flamboyant gays dramatized 80s Black women's mannerisms & slang and ran with it. Women have been re-influenced by those flamboyant gays. They feed & inspire each other's behavior. That particular move is a spin off from prior similar hand gestures.

They been clapping after every word since I was a freshmen in high schools so, yeah that’s pretty accurate
My girlfriend is a doctor and she watches this reality show called Married to Medical Doctors. I sat down and watched it with her one day and I couldn’t figure out if I was watching black women or drag queens. It was just all over the top. But you make a good point, because these women were in Atlanta, it appeared as if their behavior was mimicking gay dudes who mimick black women. It was an interesting display of regurgitation of something that originated from then to begin with.
Has there ever been any delving done into why these two groups identify and influence one another so closely?
