I watched the unreleased Drake skit they had a few days ago , and I couldn't believe how corny and cringe it was

It's a sketch comedy show, so I think it's somewhat unfair to judge an entire episode or season. There's always going to be a mix of funny, meh, and godawful. The show has almost always been like that. It's darkest days were '93-'98 or so, IMO. That said, I haven't tried to regularly watch the show in about 6 years. I just seek out the skits that get a lot of buzz online after they air.

'94-'95 season gotta be the WOAT cast/season. All the vets obviously had their sights set on getting off SNL and stopped being funny and the new people just weren't any good.

I been through a lot of era's of SNL. I started during the Eddie Murphy years, but I would say the last time the show was really funny was when it was when it was Will Ferell, Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey, and them, so I'm gonna say the early 2000's. I'll say this, this current cast has a lot of talent but the writing kinda sucks.

The writing is atrocious

Yeah. I'm not saying that they were the reason why that cast was so good but they were part of it. And I feel like once they left they were like the last of that writing group.

For me it was when Amy Poeler,Tina Fey & Maya Rudolph &. Kristen Wiig left.

It was official when these three left. They were great writers & contributors. Now it's meh, mixed in with a lot of hot or miss episodes depending on who the host is.
