My little girl killing her graduation gift :russ:
Got her a 2023 Honda Accord
She outside with my uncle learning shyt and asking about mods:pachaha::mjcry:
But let me tell you something
I understand why my mom hated teaching me how to drive:damn:
I don’t know what it is with women
But gotdamn they can’t drive for shyt:damn:
Tailgating is a huge problem
And she just like her momma and my current
shyt drives me insane:damn:
This is going to sound f*cked up but, one time, I decided to take an Uber to work to avoid wasting gas and the driver was a Chinese woman and this woman was driving like a drunkard and almost drove through a one way street until I corrected her at the right time.

I gave her a 1 star rating and I barely used Uber ever since. Even as a New Yorker, I'd call myself a car guy even though I don't really need it to maneuver the city.

:mjlol: I thought it was just my nephew. He is turning 16 in a month he has been extremely nonchalant about getting his learners license.

It very much depends on your location.

That said, teens today are less into shopping at brick & mortar stores, hanging out at the mall, going on romantic dates beyond "netflix and chill", and going to places like movie theaters, parks, arcades, etc. compared to teens in the past. Even teens who do value going to these places today can Lyft and Uber their way there instead of owning a car which they'll have to pay a lot of money to keep.

Another factor that gets overlooked is how loitering laws have become stricter when it comes to teens. Sometimes, I'll take a break from work to grab a coffee at McDonald's and I'll see some teens just hanging out there and one teen will buy a light food item to justify them hanging out there.

Today's malls, retail stores, parks, and other public places do NOT play when it comes to teens just "hanging out" without justifying themselves. There's places that will literally kick teens out just for hanging or loitering around without buying shyt. The security in these places has stepped up their game especially in response to a minority of teens who've engaged in fighting and property damage who've ruined it for the rest of teens.

Teens have to justify themselves in many of the places they used to regularly hang out in without adult supervision these days. Social media, gaming, and videochatting are easier ways for teens to connect with each other without being heavily supervised.

My daughter has been on my fukking head about driving.
She turned 16 a few months ago and we had to buy her a whip so she could flex at her sweet 16.
Get this, she can't even legally drive the car alone until August because the way Louisiana license law is setup.

But my cousin has a daughter who is 20 and still can't drive and has no urge to.

Strange.

Depends on the city you’re in.

In car cities - it’s a big thing.

In cities that aren’t big car cities - kids don’t care as much.

Where I grew up in Cleveland we had a solid train and bus line so having a car didn’t matter as much - in Columbus, there’s virtually no robust public transit and kids here get cars early.

Same is true of most of middle America

1st Round Playoff Exits
I see it a lot amongst my teen’s peers. There were so many that failed driver’s education, whether due to poor instruction in school or lack thereof at home.

Also, the youth that would be considered new drivers probably missed it due to Covid when there was only online courses and when school resumed, social distancing really limited the size of the class and behind the wheel instruction.
I know people that are 30+ with no drivers license

Makes sense if you live in an area with at least an efficient and extensive public transit system and you have other options such as bike share, scooters, e-bikes, and Uber etc. Scooters and bike share all around DC schools and there’s no reason to leave the house either.
