When did the "JLo Booty" myth start and why did we allow it to continue?

True, but in the late 90s, the likes of Ma$e, Cam'ron, and Black Rob were gassing up Latina Women like the best thing since sliced bread. That was when Hip Hop gotten real money and started wanting non-black women with fat asses from Hollywood. J Lo fit that prototype PERFECTLY......

It was self hate back then that made that J Lo stigma stick. A white looking Latina with a bubble butt and a "Spicy" mouth. A c00n brehs best dream.
U doing way too much :mjlol:

Its True. @skeetsinternal will say the same thing as well.

A lot of rappers back in the superthug era were gassing up Latinas as the perfect women like Sheek Louch, Jay-Z, Ma$e, and Puff. c00ning in the form of being "real" was heavy in the late 90s

Social media and plastic surgery on asses really fukked up our perceptions,

Yep.

There were always “voluptuous” women around, but they were mostly video girls (Melyssa Ford) so J.Lo being an actual artist was a tier above.

I actually remember when the “video girl” look started getting “mainstream” type love. When Ki-Toy Johnson and Buffie The Body hit the scene. They ushered in the SUPER THICK era. Good GAWD them was some fine women:ohlawd:

Her ass is aight but it's famous because she took out a million dollar insurance policy on it.

Shortly after that there was the whole Diddy/Shyne shoot up the club thing so she was big news for a quick lil minute.

Literally in the first 8 seconds you could see what young JLo was holding

Hollywood eventually had her looking like an ordinary white chick. Even during In Living Color I think she said she was embarrassed by her body and would wear baggy shyt because of it

Well slap my face and call me pappy

:picard: I totally forgot J Lo used to be built like that

I was about to jump on the revisionist wave until you realigned my reality, playa. Preciate dat:takedat:

Yeah, the southern black women/strippers came into music videos in the mid 00s, and changed the game forever. Esther Baxter was a chick that would get the raw dikk :takedat: until Joe Budden did that and made her get an abortion :shaq2:

But when east coast rap was on top back then, all you hear was Latina this, and Latina that. J Lo was the prototype of a non black woman that had a bubble that dudes wanted by their arm.
