When did the terms "militant" and "pro-black" gain a negative connotation on The Coli?

It's considered a joke because you know the majority of these guys are just like this online and thats it. Offline they punching in at work and waiting for their check from their cac boss every 2 weeks like everyone else.

and complaining about the race track subforum is hilarious when 95% of the shyt y'all be on would get you banned in less than 2 posts on ANY other site.

I see it so many times...it's sad.

Anytime a black person is awake and questions their surroundings and is aware of white supremacy and is not afraid to be vocal about it...another black poster will get confrontational and say something along the lines of "you militants ain't shyt!" and accuse them of "fishing for daps and reps". Why?

they do it to themselves.

pick your battles and stop crying about things that aren't worth crying about. i.e. being mad at raven symone because she wants to be labelled an american.

Aren't you white though? How are you going to try and dictate what black people should care about?

wow you took that as me dictating? how can i dictate what anyone cares about? let alone "black people" as a whole. you feel the way you wanna feel.

op asked why coli militants aren't taken seriously. perhaps it is because they spend a lot of their time looking for reasons to be emotional about stuff that doesn't fukkin matter.

me personally i did not get the vibe that raven symone was denouncing her black heritage. i see it as she just doesn't want it to define her. nor should anyone. african american, euro american, asian american, it don't fukkin matter. like she said she connects with all of em. so rather than be identified by her ethnic origin, something she had no control over or decision in, she would instead rather be identified by what she believes she is... and that is an american. and last time i checked americans are not defined by the color of their skin.

did you interpret it a different way?

It's just an easy way for white ppl on this site to deflect. They don't understand that ALOT of us were lost in the matrix until we woke up and could finally see the bullshyt called white supremacy for what it really is....hence why we have a lot of these discussions about race because a lot of us are just starting to see what it REALLY is. Are we all freedom fighters out here in these streets protesting everyday....no we are not but that doesn't mean that we can't discuss this racist system that we WERE BORN INTO amongst ourselves.

It really doesn't bother me anymore that these pretentious cacs on this site call us arm chair activists/militants etc just for speaking the truth. They are doing what they were bred to do, what their ancestors ingrained in them which is to derail any and all knowledge building amongst black ppl. They don't want the truth to be known because then their white privilege would be interrupted.

It's just sad because I was honestly starting to believe that The Coli would be OUR one place to vent our frustrations with out cacs derailing everything because of how uncomfortable they are discussing race.

Deflect deflect victim blame deflect that's what whites do best and that same attitude wreaks havoc though out the Coli. It appears we can't escape white supremacy even when online

The fact you are still calling people "militants" and using raven symone denouncing being black is a problem. You then go on to continue trying to dictate what people should and shouldn't care about and spend their time on. You can't tell people how to feel and what to feel. If someone is upset at raven symone then they have every right to be as a black person. You as a white person have no say whatsoever. You can't tell a black person what matters and what doesn't. What you need to do is :camby:

It's mostly miscommunication. I try not to go there cuz at the end of the day we're hopefully all on the same team just employing different strategies & methods of communication.

Some of it can be grating though cuz anyone can represent themselves anyway they want online without proving that they're about that action in the real world. Take @Matt504 for example. A couple months ago be was in a thread being 'militant' and shytting on civil rights leaders for doing sit ins (a strategy that worked by the way). Without having read every post he'd ever made it came off as either trolling or a CAC pretending to black on the Internet. Since then, I've seen he wasn't trolling, but in the moment it was hard to tell.

Sometimes the more ideologically aggressively members of this site sound very similar to white nationalists in the way they attack the black community especially our women. Militant is just shorthand for that.

Stop trying to advise black people on what we should talk about and what matters to us, cac.

You're white. Stop telling black people how to think and feel. You don't have a say in this conversation. Respect that...

as a cac i shouldn't think and feel a certain way when certain black posters on this site try and vilify my kind?

on the coli we are supposed to remain colorless.

Real life doesn't work that way. It seems you want us to stay colorless when it benefits you and doesn't make you and other white people uncomfortable.

Again, if you can't see the hypocrisy or understand why we as black people feel a certain way about white people (collectively...not individually), if you can't recognize the difference between addressing racism and it's effects upon non-whites and "vilification" based on prejudice that's undeserved, it's best you just don't contribute to these type of conversations, or just stay out of them completely.

This is why many people of color say white people "don't get it". You stick your nose in conversations that don't apply to you. Maybe as a white person you should just "deal with your dirty laundry first" before trying to get at us for existing.

i understand it completely.

but a lot of the times it isn't addressing racism. sometimes it feels like people look for a reason to spew hatred.

you pretend as if because i am i cac that i cannot sense racism. of course i can. i know when another white person is racist. when racism is in the air, i smell it too.

but a lot of times i believe people look for a reason to spew hate.
