I'm still kinda :patrice: about it.

After 2 or 3 listens I stopped being mad about the whole "sequel" concept and kinda understood that's a reflection on not just the album but that incarnation of Marshall the person. Once I got passed that and stopped trying to find this albums version of "criminal" I started to fukk with it a little more. I'll be honest I went into the listening experience kinda aggravated not only at the name but the fact that survivor ended up on the album, on some "crack a bottle" shyt getting shoved in the middle of the an album it has no place on just for promo. I already had it in my mind what I wanted the album to sound like before I heard it, and this wasn't it.

I can deal with berserk, survivor is aggravating, the monster is cliche/pop that does what it does. Not a bad song, just not a song I want from eminem and an obvious, anthem/stadium blah blah blah top 40 fakkit shyt. I hate a$$hole, don't like so much better, and love game is just awkward, still don't know how I feel about that song.

Bad guy
rhyme or reason
legacy
rap god
brainless
so far
headlights (would be perfect without the gilbert godfrey shyt)

all joints that I like.

stronger than I was is probably my second favorite song, I actually like the majority of his "singing" tracks like hallies song or beautiful, and its probably the best beat on the album. Reminds of 80's pop ballad/time after time type shyt so I dig it, my only complaint is the extra ughhhs

evil twin is my favorite track other than stronger, vintage shyt, makes me want to write rhymes which is really what I listen to eminem for, inspiration.

Most of the bonus cuts were dope and should have made the album, def can't ride to the retail copy of this. I'll make another revision once the full don't front track drops, monster/survival/a$$hole/berserk all go to the bushes.

I know I'm not the only one who felt some type of way when they heard that song he did with Kendrick...

Breh really wasted a feature with Kendrick on a love/emo song though?

:why:

Exactly. A 41 year old man still acting like a teenager from the 90s is just corny.
We had a whole discussion about that on twitter. Honestly, I think we just outgrew Eminem. If he did this same shyt back in 2000, I doubt we'd be complaining. That's probably the problem, all that shock value shyt and his attempts to be humorous are old. You're left with a super-talented emcee that can't make songs that we want to hear. I still can't believe people are acting like that rap bot shyt was a hot line. Eminem just ruined the trend of Jay, Nas and them showing that 40+ club can still make listenable music. I'm sitting here wondering if Eminem's fans grew with him or if he's still capturing those same teenagers he grabbed when we were all younger. I just don't see anyway someone is older than 17 co-signing this shyt Marshall is doing. He's too nice for this.

Good post.

Outgrowing his music was pretty easy for a lot of peeps but his hard core fans are still infatuated with his persona which IMO is obsolete.

This sums it up perfectly for me.

I was flipping channels and saw an Em video, I couldn't tell if it was an old video or not cause his first video singles are always on that "slim shady" corny shyt. Dont know if I want to listen to this.
