To keep your hair tidy and dance, sing or play sports? To praise Europeans and think the only history of black men and women was slavery?

What books and radio shows or lectures did you begin to pay attention to?

How did it make you feel about america and the people around you?
The reality is the majority of these people in America are brainwashed and programmed through the media. TV, books, movies, radio. To consume the dominant society's agenda.

THey program people to fear certain people, colors, words, places, things.

I took media studies classes and after realizing all of this it made me stop watching TV.

The sad truth is even when you stop succumbing yourself to programming it may take years to truly overcome it.

Television especially. Television teaches people to fear black men and hate black women. Television convinces the populace that black people commit the majority of the crimes in america despite being 13% of the population.
Television teaches people that all blacks are good for is to entertain and play sports. Not to be intelligent or creative.
Television teaches people to worship whites.
TElevision teaches people of color to aspire to be white (ie get plastic surgery, bleach skin, etc)

People forget that the people behind television are very smart. A compedium of scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, economists, marketers, advertisers, etc make up what modern media is. And in the 40s after WWII the American government hired Nazi scientists to work for them to produce propaganda, which led to the creation of television as a tool originally made for the military.

It's a sad reality but America society promotes conformity and not thinking for yourself, and having others think for you.

Many people take in all of these images and media and don't even know how to properly process it.

There's a reason why black people will NEVER be promoted accurately in the media and that's by design. IT will always be a pro-white vehicle, I don't see how some of you on here can't see this especially if you're black. The media's main focus is to promote propaganda and sell products. The advertisements make the TV programs not the other way around.

The older I got, I just stopped caring about this dumb society and I'm doing me. I think that's why I clash so much with people here. Even with all the detrimental information about how negative the media, especially television is on the black person's psyche, they still give into it and work to be represented fairly by it or want it to reflect their interests. That's never going to happen. There's a glass ceiling for a reason.

IT's not about ability, it's to keep certain folks out of the process of the making the soup that will be fed to the masses (ie US). Because the status quo has to be preserved.

I never really was :mjpls: in any way, just that incident in the 8th grade when a Hispanic teacher started discriminating people of the Caribbean that are of non Hispanic ancestry. When I found out that shyt, I went full blown :demonic: . Me, a quiet kid, started cursing her out and called her a bigot in class, throwing chairs, and straight up threatening her of a class action lawsuit while acting :pacspit: made a lot of people shook. So shook, that she was forced to apologize and she was suspended. This was back at the time when the Latin explosion of the media in 99/2000 was happening.

I knew that black power must be exercised in times of turmoil and peace.

Another time was when I was taking a college course in West African history prior to 1600 in the 12th grade. that opened my mind and saw that black folk were more than just slaves and c00ns. :salute:

4th or 5th grade when they tried to get me to blindly praise FDR and Lincoln. Read about how the latter especially hated black people, hated the abolitionist movement, supported corwin amendment to enshrine slavery in constitution, tried to deport "colonize" all blacks in south america/Liberia etc.

From there on figured to at least doubt the "official" narrative that was spoon fed to me by teachers/civic leaders.

It's been awhile, but our course, revolved around Imhotep, the Ethiopian and Ashanti tribes. Outside of that, it was a really dark course on slavery/ slave trades and their brutality. However there was one lecture with him I will never forget. The Shyt literally had me in tears. I'm crying a little bit typing this. :to:. He wanted to show us the real brutality of slavery, and I mean the REAL BRUTALITY of slavery. So he paid a couple of actors to replicate slavery in its fullest form. He had if I remember correctly 8 black actors to work on a fake cotton field, he bought to class. He had real white actors, whip these black actors, and had them called the N word ( yes with the er); and that Shyt was savage ( I will never forget this). He also had one of the females fake a rape scene ( they were having sex, but made it look like a rape). The actress was literally screaming ( fake of course); about being raped. The Shyt made me cry like a motherfukker. I swear watching this Shyt made me hate white people with a passion. I'm so blessed that Dr.Okafor is tenured, because a regular professor would've been fired with the quickness.

Sorry if I moved off topic, just started having flashbacks about the class.

But the knowledge of African tribes, centured around trades and their wealth. The Ashanti tribe was one of the wealthiest tribes using force, while Ethiopia tribes were smarter in their trade routes.
Were there any white people in the class? :sas2: What were their reactions:sas1:

Nah, there were like three biracial students though. It was 40 of us in the class altogether I'm pretty sure after the presentation, they gave their white side of the family tree the :wtb: Face. Then gave their black side of the family the :myman:face. But in all seriousness that was a crazy showing.
