Before he was a celebrity, a WWE United States champion, and an action figure, Hassan "MVP" Assad was a prisoner. More than 30 years after he committed his crime and 20 years since release, he still finds himself constantly "repaying his debt to society." In this remarkable talk, Assad asks the important question: when will society decide a person is no longer in need of punishment? When will he stop being a criminal?

This country. It's a different playing field. In this country leaving race aside for a sec his government name is a hindrance too :francis:

MVP was on his way to being a big star in WWE but he was sabotaged too. I was happy he got a lil run in New Japan, it's incredible how in WWE he had all the mic skills you could ask for and he had become a great in-ring performer and still was held back. People will say well he had a U.S. title run but he should have been much bigger..

Remember he came in with what they said was the :to: gimmick, it was poppin Vince probably didn't fukkin understand it :stopitslime:

His tears behind watching kofi win made my eyes swell
Dude been fighting along time and if he was born white and a bit taller, he could have been Batista because he was more charismatic then Dave was and equal to better in ring but Dave got every chance to succeed and mvp didn’t

Breh that vid of him tearing up literally made me go watch the Kofi match :mjcry:

New Japan put some respect on his name and even put their main belt on a black man before the E did even though it was during the mma fukkery but ill always give them my business for it :salute:Inoki always had respect for nikkas going back to Ali. :wow:

Mvp always came off like a real one.

MVP is one of my favorite wrestlers ever. I was a teenager when he first came to the wwe and I honestly thought he would be the first Black wwe champion. I actually met bruh and told him I was rotting for him to be champion one day. He was over whether he was a heel or a face. The MVP- Matt Hardy fued is a classic to this day. I remember when he got drafted to raw back in 2009 and I instantly thought he was never going to be champion because he got drafted to a show where cena, blandy, and triple nose were fighting for the belt.

"MVP was a major part of the Ruthless Aggression era? Take a look at this for a second, pal."

I thought they were going to put him into the mix in the main event scene because he was the first pick and the first thing he did was interrupt a Randy Orton/Legacy promo and the crowd popped big for it, but ultimately it didn't translate to anything other then mid card feuds. Between that and the shyt with Kofi later on that year was disappointing.

Yeah the thing with him and orton seemed like it was going to start something, but I then remembered who orton was feuding with. :francis:
