No need for asterisks...all you need is perspective and common sense. Anyone who's been paying attention and has a decent grasp on history knows what is going on and can put everything in it's proper place. In all honesty, the rules protecting the QB have more impact than the downfeild contact rules. QBs are staying healthier and playing longer than ever and records will continue to fall. I think the best way to go is to compare guys to their peers.

People blame the rule changes... and there's validity to that. But with players bigger and faster than they've ever been - it was the natural progression to move the game from the trenches to the air.

It is a different league now than it was 20 years ago. Different than it was 10 years ago.

SOHH ICEY N.O.
I will Asterisk it whenever we put a asterisk by the 80s-90s corners and safeties, most of them dudes would get roasted in today's game, cause its much harder to do

NFL basically switch the strip, defense use to have the advantage and be able to do whatever they wanted, now the offense do

But I did like football without these pass happy league push shyt, it peyton was the best qb before these changes IMO anyway, but the leagues needs to cutback on a lot of flags, corners and safeties really get fukked all the time. And DL also wit the hits on the qb

QBS USED TO GET BLOWN THE fukk UP ON THE REGULAR.
HELL, THERE WOULD BE NO BRADY IF DREW DIDNT GET BLOWN UP.

NOW ITS A PF IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY SLAP HIM IN THE HELMET.
CANT LEAD WITH YOUR HEAD NOR HIT HIM BELOW THE KNEES.

CANT BLOW UP A WR ACROSS THE MIDDLE...
CANT EVEN PLAY PHYSICAL WITH WR ANYMORE OR ITS A FLAG.

IVE SEEN STAFFORD TOSS ALL TYPES OF BULLshyt OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD
THAT WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MEGATRON DESTROYED IN THE OLD DAYS
INSTEAD HE CATCHING IT OVER THE SHOULDER BETWEEN 3 DEFENDERS.:pachaha:

FAVRE CONSECUTIVE GAMES STREAK IS VERY IMPRESSIVE
WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THE ERA HE CAME FROM.

It's arena league football and it's complete garbage..even the teams aren't that good anymore with the hard cap no teams are consistently good week to week

But people are so brainwashed that's it's footballllll that they'll accept any mediocre shytty product the nfl hands them

Even going to college football, you've got bums at these all time great schools recently that are the all time leaders in passing over older great players

WASHINGTON, DC
http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/passingYards/year/2003

Lets go back to 2003 when Ty Law mugged the shyt out of Murder Marv in the AFC title game, Polian bytched and got the rules changed

2003:
  • 2 QB's threw over 4,000 Yards
  • Only 1 QB had over 30TD and that was Favre and he had 21Int's,
  • Steve McNair led the league in QBR with 100
  • Tom Brady led the Pats to their 2nd SB threw for 60%/3,500yds/23TD/12Int
2013
  • 9 QB's threw over 4,000 yards
  • 5 QB's had over 30TD, Would have been 6 but Nick Foles didn't start
  • A 100QBR would have been best for 8th
http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/passingYards/year/2013

This year it's even worse that Illegal contact bullshyt

Peyton would have broken Favre's record regardless but you got all these Frauds at QB, who are going to break records.

Favre had a broken thumb in 2003 and he threw 32 TDs

Crazy to look back on, he didn't have as many attempts either cause Ahman Green ran for 1800 yards

Doesn't mean it's good because it's "natural progression"

Mediocre Qbs putting up big numbers in a league where defense is not allowed is not a good thing IMO

There are so many flags that there is no flow to the games anymore add in more commercials and longer commercials and it's nearly unwatchable

Flag
Flag
Td
Commercial
Kickoff

Gambling is the one thing holding the league together and why I watch
