meh. I don't find his voice aggressive. It's that same ol whiny-sounding shyt. and for me, if you sound whiny, I just can't take you seriously as being aggressive. You gotta have some bass to your voice.

A tad better but still doesn't do anything for me. That first track you posted was the best example.

Rapping in general is about being hard and slick all at the same time. Hard in the sense of being aggressive, commanding and confident. You sound too whiny and I'm gonna think you're insecure, even if you aren't in real life. Slick in the sense of being smooth, having an addictive voice, etc. Some rappers are more hard than slick (e.g. MOP), and some more slick than hard (Snoop, Slick Rick). But you gotta have both. Rap is public speaking in rhythm over beats. Great public speakers command your attention in their own special way.

Outside of Rocky and Lil B (when talking about new school), no one else imo has both. I'm being real. I wish there were more, but they're too busy imitating Eminem, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Gucci Maine and Soulja Boy -- the least commanding influential rappers of all time.

Drill WAS dope in the beginning but it didn't "run rap" and wasn't nearly as successful as the examples I posted. I can't even think of five drill singles that did well. My post was moreso about the overall attitude of rap. I thought Chief Keef was going to save us but after Finally Rich he fell the fukk off and the quality of all those drill guys diminished. Without that production those guys wouldn't be shyt

King Louie shoulda got more attention for actually being able to craft an album, he can be corny but his music is better than most of the dudes riding on the wave he pioneered.
