When Does Arrested Development Get Classic?

I think some of the writing was clever but not necessarily funny if that makes sense.

the thing is, who said that a sitcom needs to be laugh out loud funny to be good/great/classic ?

there probably aren't as many LOL moments in AD as in something situational comedy like say...king of queens...but its clearly more memorable and superior

plus satire (which some of AD was) in general isnt as out loud funny as slapstick humor and gags to most people

I said I enjoy it. Just my preference in sitcoms is the stuff that'll make me laugh out loud over the cleverly written stuff. I fukks with AD too. I just feel Seinfeld and Curb mixed the clever with the laugh out loud better which is why I rate them higher. It's all about tastes.

It's a show that's either hilarious to you or passable. I think it's a goat comedy cuz of the dead pan humor combined with WTF humor, the shyt had me from day 1, but I could also see how it wouldn't appeal to a lot of people as well.

I've gotten halfway thru season 3 and while it's funny, I do think it's a bit overrated.

I do appreciate the clever writing....but there's not many laugh out loud moments.
And I prefer a mix of laugh out loud comedy and a mix of clever writing.
