Rather than design a whole new smartphone for Windows 8 Samsung is apparently satisfied to use the hardware specifications and design of the Galaxy S3 for both Android and Windows 8.
The W8 model will feature an extra dedicated camera button.
The smartphones will be distinguished by name and operating system only, with the Windows 8 lined up to be called the Samsung Focus S II – rather confusing if it uses the S III design.
So Samsung might be using Galaxy S for Android and Focus S for Windows 8.
Specs for this rumoured Samsung Galaxy Focus S2:
Faster dual/quad core processor
4.7-inch HD display
12-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera
Near field communication (NFC) capabilities
Dedicated camera button
Samsung Cloud Support
Improved Photo Studio
4G LTE support
We'll be reporting live from the event on 3 May at 7pm so check back for coverage as it happens. For now take a look at our Samsung Galaxy S3 release date, specs and rumour round-up.
