Get on a train, pass a glance with someone, and play a multitude of guessing games. Could this person really get off at the next stop? Crazy person? Do you even speak English? How many basic rules of etiquette am I willing to violate?


Which leads to the desperation and finality of these messages. An infinitesimal shot. Is that better than no real shot? Is anyone really going to read these? How often should I betray these feelings inside?

You were on the J train tonight around 7-7:30 PM sitting and reading a hardcover book. You were wearing flat gold earrings and kept smiling to yourself as you read it. I was kind of in my own world saturday night on the downtown C, but when I looked up we sort of exchanged glances in that looking but not looking way. You were in, um, a jacket and wearing white headphones with a hood on. I thought you looked cool, but talking to attractive strangers on a train is just too weird I guess (though this is too, right?). If we got out at the same stop I was gonna say hi or something, since at least its not ON the train, but you got off before me at Spring st I think, and I was already running late.

Anyway, if people actually read these things, maybe lets grab a drink sometime.

Yes, craigslist is one of the great sites. Find a job, apartment, used phone, free haircuts, pets, mattresses, etc.
