This is occurring in a short period of time which is leading to a danger of overwhelming the medical system. Not to mention its extremely infectious. To put this in relative terms, what is called the R0 of the flu which measures how infection an illness is, is 1.3. For this, its currently between 2-6.5 by some estimates. This is a disease that is almost 2x more infectious than the flu at least.

When doctors in Italy literally have to choose who dies and who lives because they don't have enough resources, that is a pandemic. Keep in mind this is occurring while Italy is currently shutdown. People like you want to make that issue orders of magnitude worse by increasing people's contact and therefore increasing all the metrics related to this disease become infinitely worse. The UK government proposed what you said fell back after a few days after they realized it would result in millions of people dying.

Like I said, I'm not above assigning China appropriate blame. But I see through your game and I ask people to wise up. Your focus on China not surprisingly lacks accountability and focus what YOUR government is failing to do. So, the obvious game here is that you're trying to shift people's attention to China because you see people focusing on the government you support is fukking up. Let me put this in perspective. I'm going to treat you as if you're open to maybe being educated, and I'm not trying to be insulting, just that maybe you don't understand. So, here understand this.

Right now 1000 people are dying a day. But again, to put in perspective, due to this one disease a week ago, 250 people died a day. That is a 4x increase over a week. This trend of 4x the previous week number, roughly, is not stopping. We are on the exponential portion of what is called a logistic curve.

Please, please I'm sincerely asking you to take a look at this video. Its only 8 minutes, to understand what the numbers and trends are telling us.


It is a bit math-heavy, but I'm not bragging but I consider to be a pretty math literate guy. I had to be to get my engineering degree. So, if you do watch that video, and have any questions about the math I'll gladly answer it.

Next week, we will more than likely be at 2000 people dying a day. If we don't reach it this week. Hopefully, the measures we have put in place will curtail the rise, but opening things back up will make this blow up to degrees you wouldn't believe. But given how haphazard we have been about getting in front of this, we aren't doing everything we can to mitigate it the best we can.

This disease right now is the 3rd highest cause of death per day. There is a good chance by next week, it will be the number 1 cause of death. That is concerning.
