I don't know why they aren't mandatory after the baby is born. If you have doubt that's your child..you should get one done asap and not after you sign the birth certificate. If you sign it and you find out after the fact, it's on you.

Just do it on your own without asking because it WILL fukk up your relationship. You could find out the kid isn't yours but you could also accuse a good faithful woman of being a hoe that would make someone take care of a kid that isn't theirs. I know if my husband asked me to get a dna test, we'd be getting a divorce on the way to getting the dna test to prove that the kid is his.
