They were the ones who implemented a fake ass wellness policy program and one that was 10 years too late. Benoit was found to have massive amounts of testosterone in his body and passed every one of those wellness checks. They didn't even have a wellness program from 96 until Eddie in 05.

And despite their lack of knowledge towards the consequences of repeated head trauma at the time, that's still negligence. If an employee dies of an unknown chemical leak in an office, the employer is still held partly responsible and liable. In wrestling though, carny shyt like that is normalized I guess.

And they still haven't fully learned their lesson. The talent are still contractors without health benefits, which spells disaster for a profession where the employees are taking bodily harm on a nightly basis, and they're still kept on the road for most days of the year and pressured to do so or risk "losing their spot" because Vince plays favorites.

I know this is a rhetorical question cuz WWE doesn't own up for anything and if they did it would open them up for lawsuits. But just like their historically racist treatment of minority talent, they don't wanna acknowledge that they morally and ethically fukked up and are still fukking up.

They’ll never take responsibility for their part in the deaths of anyone. Yeah they may not have forced them to do steroids, pop pills and sniff coke but they certainly fostered the climate of that behavior.

Fostered, enabled, encouraged, then when it became bad business overlooked it. And then when it became really bad business, just pretended like it never happened like they was doing the right things all along.

Never :mjlol:

Benoit isn’t even the first fukked up thing they’ve been involved that they totally ignore :mjlol:

they don’t give a shyt fam

Benoit is the one incident that almost brought down the whole industry though. I think if WWE wanna be this progressive company they're striving for, then one day they'll have to let the skeletons out the closet and take some responsibility for it (as well as all the other funky shyt they've done). The fact that the entire culture and business changed after the fact shows how WWE was not innocent either.

The fact that Benoit took some of the most stupid ass bumps I had ever seen, especially ones in the back of his head just was a dead giveaway to the end results :francis:. Dude was the modern day Nelson Van Alden. When you take a wrestler that was so dedicated to his craft to the point of beating himself for a bad deed, thus not properly testing him and letting him actually fukking wrestle without chair shots and other "ruthless aggressor" type of spots, don't be surprised if he becomes a ticking timebomb.

WWE in general has a sheet that goes beyond concussions. We are talking enhancers, drugs, hits in the ring, cover ups and so forth. But until these matters get brought into attention on the level of the Steroid trial, nothing will come of this and it will be another day in the office.

That’s the thing though. They don’t actually wanna be progressive or take responsibility. They just want the benefit of manufacturing that kinda image. They’ll continue to do fukk shyt on the low and usually get away with it because nobody cares about wrestling really. They’ll keep portraying themselves as some family friendly company too though :francis:

They'll say they weren't aware of CTE at the time but I still see it as gross negligence in the workplace. That combined with the poor drug testing procedures, I'm surprised the family didn't take them to court for millions

Believe the company that forced Owen Hart up in the rafters for a cheap stunt and continued the PPV after he died to take responsibility in other werestler’s death brehs :usure::comeon::unimpressed::martin:

At least Owens not a boogeyman they tucked away in the closet so they’ll never have to look at it again. WWE a day later was just like “Benoit who? :dwillhuh:

Vince was essentially :yeshrug: it was an accident despite the fact the stunt wasn’t needed and he cheapened out on the equipment needed for it to be safe and successful. Guerrero’s death was the only real death he legit was sorry for based on the Wellness policy being changed as a result. Every other wrestler’s death as been oh well in Vince’s eyes.
