Nope.

Know who needs to own up? The guy who killed his family and himself. There's been thousands of people who wrestled for WWE and other companies who didn't do no shyt like that.

This is corporate apologist bullshyt fam. I don't see how you can look at their shady wellness program which he passed with flying colors every time, the culture which pressures workers to spend most of their nights on the road away from family, and their documented historical lack of thorough medical care for talent, and think WWE is innocent in fostering and enabling the environment which led to something like that happening.

You might say Benoit wrestled in other companies before WWE, but he died under Vince's watch after having worked there for 7 years. Did you know they didn't even have a wellness policy from 1996 until ten years later in 2006? Who knows what they might have prevented had they done their due diligence in actually protecting their employees sooner?

If it wasn't going to be Benoit, it would have been someone else eventually. I'm not saying WWE is entirely responsible, but for them to pretend like they were completely absolved of all wrongdoing is irresponsible. Benoit was a perpetrator of murder and also a victim of negligence.

WWE has done a lot of shyt that they have not owned up to but Benoit's death isnt one of them IMO

chris benoit has been roided up for years....i mean for years
chris took all those wild ass bumps in the ring and out which turned his brain to mush
chris, even before the WWE, was always seen as a little off
chris murdered his family due to factors he caused himself not the WWE

even if he didn't kill himself and his family, he was either going to die of a heart attack or become mentally invalid before he turned 50..and it would have been his doing

i did laugh as his death forced vince to kill an angle he was doing completely

+ WWE is a billion dollar company that refuses to call its talent employees because they don't wanna spend money on benefits. Cutting corners and neglecting employee welfare in the process is their history and legacy

If they had a program, could of saw it company instead of trying to act proactive after he exposed and finished.

Nope.

Not being an apologist, but MFs for 13 years have tried to attribute Chris Benoit's conscious decision to murder his family to everything except Chris Benoit. This MF killed his wife, killed his child, gave an excuse that they were sick, went to sleep, woke up, googled how to kill himself with the least amount of pain, and then hung himself. There ain't another wrestler who's done that. But one guy out of literally thousands does it and it's WWE's responsibility to own up to having a part in it?

and the reason why i think they try to scapegoat what made chris do what he did is the fact he was such a great wrestler with countless classics...ppl to this day still keep the rose colored glasses for him and i think its weird..shyt hulk hogan is a staple of millions of childhood memories and he was cancelled by the WWE for a while once it was discovered he liked saying the n word and was a good ol boy racist..chris dug his grave and is laying in ashes in an urn...if ppl want to celebrate his career, his matches are all over youtube and dailymotion and what not..the WWE is a publicly traded company..its not going to look good if vince is like yes i played a hand in benoit's brain going to mush and a heart that was a ticking time bomb :ehh:..if youre going to do that then you gotta go after all the promotions where benoit operated in too

That's all that shyt has to do with. MFs would not have this same energy if it had been Great Khali. It wouldn't have been WWE's fault, the wrestling business' fault, steroids' fault, or none of those uncoordinated ass moves he did. It woulda been GREAT KHALI, a crazy MF that lost it and killed his family. But because it's Benoit, there's a million excuses... obviously, the dude wasn't mentally together. I don't think most murderers are though, and where they worked doesn't have to take any of the weight for what they decided to do.

If you leave it to the marks, Benoit would be celebrated to this day because of his “ring work”.. they want him in the HOF and all that. These guys live in a wrestling bubble and have little to no clue how shyt works in the real world.

Nope. There’s been tons of wrestlers on steroids who likely had CTE. He’s the only one who killed his family in cold blood.

The culture of wrestlers having to be bodybuilders definitely played a factor into this but Benoit knew what business he was getting into. If you weren’t 6’5 and jacked you had to do what you had to do.

They didn’t see the Dark side of the ring? He contemplated going to wrestle while their bodies were still in the house. :mindblown:

And there’s still some people defending him because they love how he wrestled.

For years a lotof people just couldn't grasp how somebody they admired so much could do something so vile. Especially because in a lot of cases you feel like you're having to defend your entire wrestling fandom when he's the subject. I was guilty of it too. Nowadays I can still watch his matches with no problem (at least up until post-Eddie ) but you won't see me trying to disassociate him from what he did at all.
