What do you want to know about? Food, women, city atmosphere?

It’s not talked about like the other 3 because black folks are a small minority there. If I lived in SA I would be in Austin every weekend

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.

Austin doesn’t seem that black either and I just realized their black population went down close to 5%.

How come? I’d Austin a city experiencing gentrification?

NOLA
That San Antonio/ San Marco's area is nice.

If we ever have to move to Texas this area would top the list.

Hipsters overpricing shyt and pushing the original black populations out. East Austin used to be hood. Gentrification and drugs pushed folks to Rundberg and now they are going outside of the city. 35,000 out of nearly 700,000 :wow:

But Austin is a hub and people travel there. Plus the UT nightlife crowd makes the nightlife more blended.
But when I lived there E Austin and Quail Creek (sp) and Rundberg were the main/only black hoods.

Gentrification? Was Austin ever black? I’ve akways felt like Austin was the South’s version of Seattle.
They might not have a large population of black folks but that is because it’s a new age boom tech town and didn’t grow like your typical Texas city. Austin was never big on plantations, always isolated.

But since you mentioned Seattle, they gave us Quincy Jones and Jimi Hendrix and Jet Terry. I can’t name one prominent black person to be raised in ATX
