Something about a father's death really hits different. Like there are things that you realize you will never be able to get info on now that you are a grown man and can confirm his lessons.

I genuinely believe losing a parent is the most life-changing thing in a persons life besides maybe having children. I was never the same after.

And I’m lucky, because I was 26 when he passed. Other people lose their father as children. I couldn’t imagine.

Can you find any black therapist in your area? When my pops died I told the grief counselor specifically I wanted a black therapist.

To be honest I never thought about It. I really don't like the idea of someone in my business.

I understand. Think about it like this. They can't tell anyone or they lose their job. I always compartmentalize my therapist, they are a professional this is their job. Just like you would deal with a banker or a chef.

Wild. My father died the day before my 27th birthday (on November 7th) at the age of 66 on November 6th.

shyt probably ruined my birthday forever lol.

just gotta take what they gave us and hope that its enough to keep us going.
