This is how it seemed back then. It was the perfect storm of stuff not hitting plus 50’s onslaught. I’m an admitted firmer G-Unit stan, but even before then, I wasn’t really jammin Ja much other than that second Murder Inc compilation, and I did buy his debut. Ja was massive though, and ideally, truly should’ve just ignored 50 and focused on those radio singles. I liked the beat to “Clap Back”, but the video seemed so over the top, almost a gangsta parody, especially after he was wearing a Grease-inspired sweater in that bubble gum ass “Mesmerised” videoIt did absolutely nothing. I always felt bad for dude he got a raw deal from the fans and industry. It's one of the things I've come to hate about hip hop and the entertainment industry as a whole, like the whole building up of someone just to find someone or something to tear it all down. And the masses buy it, "hook, line and sinker ". Dude was selling like 3 million every time out he was dare I say it, bigger than Jay-Z at one point. Go back and look ppl was buying and jamming them albums. Plus he had the female game on lock. But that was the thing, if you're audience has too many women and something more masculine comes along and they like that more, then you're time's up

Let’s be honest here, were any of those actually better than the ones Ja was doing? Almost every one of those were on par with that “Mesmerized” trash![]()
