When Ja Rule dropped “Clap Back’, was it an uppercut to 50 Cent in real time???

Pain is Love went 3x plat

The Last Temptation was mid/trash, "only" went plat and was the last time he reached those number

Yeah, he was on his way out
It took 6 months for pain is love to do those numbers.

Who dropped within that 6 month window after the last temptation? :jbhmm:

Ja made better music than 50 but 50 had hype, 50 hasn't done anything much after that musically to top Ja

50 ate that punch...

G-Unit still had the streets on lock. Ja tried to use Farrakhan to squash the beef and that led to 50 releasing the G-Unit Radio: No Peace Talks.

Ja should have took a year off and go recover from the beating from Shady/Aftermath.
Nah he should have kept doing the type of music he was doing like Rozay did

Something I haven't seen mentioned in this thread about this beef was that a fuccing jacking-for-beats mixtape diss track in "Hail Mary" was getting played regularly on radio nationally. Not just in NYC., but nationally.
THIS

It was a complete wrap for Ja once you let that sink in.

50 and Jay

Jay went 2X platinum and his album went number one

Ja album never reached number one (Pain is Love did)...

Jay next album went 4X platinum... Ja album did not even go plat

Ja was on his way out. Pain is Love was his peak :yeshrug:

It did absolutely nothing. I always felt bad for dude he got a raw deal from the fans and industry. It's one of the things I've come to hate about hip hop and the entertainment industry as a whole, like the whole building up of someone just to find someone or something to tear it all down. And the masses buy it, "hook, line and sinker ". Dude was selling like 3 million every time out he was dare I say it, bigger than Jay-Z at one point. Go back and look ppl was buying and jamming them albums. Plus he had the female game on lock. But that was the thing, if you're audience has too many women and something more masculine comes along and they like that more, then you're time's up

It was a Drake situation where no matter.what Ja response was nobody wanted to hear that shyt lol

Did 50 have a crusade against jay? Ja sold just as much as Jay. Jay dropped a double album, numbers were inflated. :jbhmm:

By the time Ja dropped, wanksta was already popping. Get rich dropped during his album cycle. The public turned on him for 50. He started at the same pace as his last album, only difference is 50.

So explain why the first single of the Last Temptation FLOPPED and why the album did not go number one?
You can't put that on 50 and GRODT...

He had a top 3 single and it went plat in a month. In what world is that a fall off?

Shania Twain sold 800k first week. What rapper is going number 1 with that album debuting? Name them.

8 mile soundtrack, which had Wanksta.

Pop compilation.

It's litteraly a fall off when your TWO previous albums went number one and when your first single is a flop

Mesmerize was basically the only good thing about that album

Ja was clearly losing momentum before the 50 wave hit the scene. The trends are clear: his decline started with the Last Temptation, before GRODT even dropped.

His moment at the top was done. Ja was not built to remain a top rapper for a long time. He ain't no Jay. It was supposed to end up like that, 50 or not.

Loose Change was an uppercut to Eminem.
The Source's war on Eminem with the racist tapes damaged EM.

50's war was in 2007 era when he started making some of the WOAT singles of all time.

Interscope pulled the ultimate chess move and took the ads away from the Source and gave them to the rival magazine XXL…

Marshall has some major players behind him(Dre and Iovine) and they wasn’t gonna let their investment go to waste because Benzino was mad at Em for complaining about getting a low mic(which back then determined if someone was gonna buy the CD)

Em was forgiven after a few years. For one, he apologized on Yellow Brick Road and hid away from the world for a few years due to his drug addiction.

50 lost to Kanye album wise. Graduation aged better than Curtis.

Before I Self Destruct was a better album though
