some some people saying he was the aggressor by getting boundaries. thats why he pushed him while trying to walk away.

the only people that will say that are folks that would've done the same shyt as he did

dude was completely in the wrong, its as cut and dry as that

nikkas always wanna play that "nose in the air leave me the fukk alone" shyt when teachers/security guards come around. its the oldest go to move for teenagers in the book.

You know, something that will get lost in this situation is that he's a high school kid. Isn't he only 16?
You watch this video and it dawns on you go, :ohhh: "Oh yeah...he's a big goofy kid."

Seems like a really emotional kid in general. Wears his heart on his sleeve, and it ends up working to his detriment. Peep the part around 3:28 when he's pointing out his girlfriend in front of the class. Kid's been playing football forever and probably doesn't know any other mentality. None of that excuses his actions, but as a teacher that deals with young black men in this city on the daily, I can't help but root for him to turn it, and learn to be accountable, and rise from this incident. It's going to take a lot of showing & proving. :ld:

Sidenote: There's a pretty ironic statement at the 10:46 mark... :heh: :snoop:

hopefully he gets some jail time for this - you can't go around acting ghetto and think there's no consequences... people act like there aren't other athletes willing to assimilate and make themselves to be more "congruent" with the rest of upper and respectable society.

Sometimes you gotta treat people like animals, when my dog gets out of line I whip it and he learns very quickly what to do and what not to do. Not saying these people should be whipped but something of the sort should be done.

@Brooklynzson

get this cac the fukk outta here

Damn shame lil homie might have ruined his chances at msu because of this

and how long has cass had security guards?
Since '89 at least :old: but they were never white

Is Cass a bad ass highschool?
Got the baddest hoes in the city:myman:

Neither would a Renaissance player.:mjpls:
lmao, those nikkas still don't have a football team?

From what I've read on a Spartan Board:

Security guard was new and asked Jayru to remove his hat. Kid prolly has an inflated head being a QB and all and starts to bust the security guards balls. This escalates into an argument, drawing attention from students and culminating with the body slam. smh...
Man.....I got about 4 or 5 hats snatched by this guidance counselor I think his name was Mr. Norde or something like that. But he would hit cats with his famous line "Ya hat brother!" right before snatching it off they head nikkas would be left like :to: when them fresh ass hats would get snatched and everybody else was :whew: that it wasn't them

Not sure if this angle was posted or not:

Even if the guard was the aggressor, one does not need to body slam him.

I'm not big on excuses for people that lose their cool in situations like this, the kid definitely messed up big time, and should face the consequences.

However, the security guard was acting like it was his first day in jail or something. You don't have to back down, necessarily, but to get up in the kid's face like that was just asking to escalate things. I'm not sure if he was trying to apply force to set the tone for everyone that he could control the alpha male D1 prospect popular kid or what, but he needed to back off. Let the situation cool down and get the kid to the office later. He didn't have to let the kid go about his day, but he could have gotten another guard that knows the kids and the school to escort the kid to the office. That's ultimately what ended up happening anyway after the other security guards were like "Well, shyt, new guy just got slammed."

Instead, this thing blew up in the guard's face, and he should have had the cooler head in that situation. He is the adult. I get that you don't want some punk kid making you look soft in front of everyone. But pick your battles man. You're not going to win in that situation. I bet he didn't think that the worst case would be this bad, but there was no tact about him getting in the dude's face.

Cass Tech's Campbell gets plea deal, can avoid criminal record | The Detroit News

Under a plea agreement, Cass Tech football standout Jayru Campbell will be able to avoid a criminal record if he is able to complete a youth probation program, a Wayne County Circuit Court judge ruled Friday.

Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Kenny agreed to a plea deal between Campbell’s attorney and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office to sentence Campbell under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act in the case in which Campbell admitted to assaulting a school security guard in a body-slamming incident Jan. 22, which was caught on video.

“It doesn’t have anything to do with you being a good athlete,” Kenny told Campbell on Friday.

The judge told the teen it is because of his family situation and background.

Campbell, 17, had been charged with felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, which was dropped under the plea agreement. He instead pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a misdemeanor. Under the original charge in the case, Campbell could have been sentenced up to 10 years in prison.

As part Campbell’s plea agreement, he will have to undergo psychological counseling and take anger management classes, Kenny said. Campbell must also apologize for the body slamming of the school body guard, identified as Robert Donovan, and the apology will be read in open court.

Donovan suffered a scalp laceration and an “open wound to the lip,” according to Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Kam Towns. Campbell will have to pay for his medical costs as part of the plea agreement, Kenny said.

Campbell will be sentenced May 30.
