When live stopped making NBA games, 2k fell off, 2k13 is trash

after the december update, the calls on the defensive end became unbearable and anyone who plays the game regularly will tell you the same...it isn't even about me reaching in, it's about them CALLING REACH IN FOULS CONSTANTLY...and even having my computer teammates REACH IN BY THEMSELVES JUST SO THEY CAN CALL IT

i respect your position, but it's a stilted one since you admitted you dont play online and dont play with the real settings/sliders...if i gotta go in there and fukk with sliders, or go online and download some janky ass bootleg sliders to make the game play how it should play normally, the game already failed

I agree. I bet y'all first problem is playing ranked online matches. I'll preface this by saying that I haven't played one game online. Why would I wanna punish myself with a horrible experience? Everyone always says competition this, and competition that, but playing jerk offs that play the game like its NBA Jam, or an And 1 game is not my idea of competition.

2nd of all, if you're playing any sports game as is out of the box, you deserve what you get. Of course there are those people that will say that you shouldn't have to tinker with the game in order to get it to play right, and to them I say stop being naive. It's now 2013. These games are geared towards causual gamers. Thats the crowd they wanna sell to, as they expect the hardcore fans to buy regardless (though that approach cost EA a customer in me re: Madden for years, and this year NCAA). Download yourself a good set of rosters and sliders, and the game gets soooooooo much better.

oObviously the game isn't perfect, and has some issues and bugs, but I'm LOVING the game. To me, it plays a MUCH better game of basketball than Madden does football. I saw a complaint about the reach in calls. Unreal. STOP fukkING REACHING. There's a YouTube dude that ends his videos the same way every time, by saying "don't play games, play basketball". Take that advice. Know how often ppl reach in the NBA? Hardly ever. Know why? Cause they result in lots of fouls. You got ppl spamming the steal button the whole game online, making them think they're good. Now they cry cause their guys are fouling out. fukk outta here. Adjusting the reach in calls was one of the best things they did.

If you think 2K11 or 2K12 is better, we'll, here's an idea: GO PLAY THAT GAME. Noones holding a gun to your head forcing you to play 2K13. I liked 11, skipped 12, and to me 13 is just a better game than 11. If you're bytching about the game and play online ranked, I have no sympathy for you. If you refuse to make the game better by downloading rosters/inputting sliders, I have no sympathy for you. The tools are out there to make the game a very enjoyable experience. Ignore them at your own peril.

they fukked up when they took away lobbies. u could go into lobbies, find nikkas who werent cheesers and play good games. now its random as fukk. i refuse to play an online ranked match. i'd prolly throw my game in the bushes..

myplayer is cool this year. so i stick wit that shyt, and try to do associations where nikkas claim they dont play like fakkits, but ther's always one or 2 who fukk the shyt up

i've actually played in an online association with sliders, and u could affect dunks, as far as causing missed jawns... now they need to d something with the colition detection so that dudes dont move back in space when a nikka comes flying thru

2k11 was the goat, 2k12 was trash, and 2k13 is great, i didnt really like until the update, but my problem wit every 2k is online, the servers and connections are so trash and its been the same for 8-9 years, i play association and im half way thru the season, after i finish the season im probably not gon play it again, games wit wack online have no replay value

Yeah, you def. have to tinker with some sliders to make this game more perfect, otherwise it's a dope game. I play mostly MyPlayer, and there are several bugs/glitches that kinda f's up the experience ... I'm glad I'm not playing on a console, and limited to waiting on official patches from 2k. The modding community is pretty good about fixing some problems.

I haven't really noticed excessive reach-in fouls called, and I play with all foul categories boosted up to like 70. Offensive rebounds are ridiculous pre-slider but not game breaking.

What annoys me is the off-ball bumping. The AI knows where you want to go before your player even moves, gets in your path and that weird collision animation takes over. And what's worse is it's rarer for your player to bump AI the same way when you're on defense, and they're going towards the basket. You can be standing there, but they run right past you. Just one annoying game imbalance [/rant]
