i always had one credit card with a 5k limit. i went over it once but now it is paid off and always at zero balance. i ended up following dave ramsey and chris hogan's financial guide. it's simple, remove all debt ASAP and save money as much as you can. when the time comes right, you can invest.

Chase randomly lower my limit a few days ago :russ:

I don’t give a fukk. The apr too high anyways :mjlol:

chase is the most vigilant. AMEX is the best all-around and most fun/useful to have in your wallet. if you get ONE good AMEX then get you a decent MC or Visa to catch shyt that may not accept AMEX. thats really all you need.

Do yourself a favor.. save up some cash

Get a secured Discover card their max is $2500
I believe

So get as close to that max as you can or find another card with a higher max .. Use your tax refund if necessary

Deposit the cash with them.. make on time payments and after 6 mos they'll graduate you to a non secured card and send you the deposit back

This 2500 will now be your credit limit

Keep it in good standing pay it off every month and they will increase your limit

After a year apply for another card and the new card will likely give you a limit close to the one you already have as long as you go with a good bank like Chase or something none of these dumb ass banks like Credit One

If you get offers for those cheap banks rip them up

This is not my advice to you.. Just an opinion on a possible work around for someone in a similar situation

OP,

Just FYI, Discover will insecure your card after on time payments.

However the timeline is more like 7months to 13months.

I don't want u to put up money you need back definitely in 6months...... but it is a good card to get.

ur gonna have to request it, it's not just a matter of adding the amount u want to to ur deposit. idk about ur specific card but some will raise the limit if you make a certain number of monthly payments in a row on time. if there's no way offered to increase ur credit limit then i'd try to switch it to an unsecured account.

You paid off all your cc debt so now you’re going to close your accounts? Did it go to collections?

How lavish were you really living with 15k in credit my G?

Yup I paid off all my CC debts.

I was in my 20s thinking credit cards were free money & I would pay it back later.

I was bad in my 20s buying foreign cars, taking vacations, popping bottles in the club, fukking hookers & taking females out shopping.

It took me 4 years to clear that debt. During the time clearing my debt, they increased all my credit
