Personally for me, i make a CONSCIOUS EFFORT to support artists who make music that i personally relate to. Artists that are relateable themselves. I havent bought too many albums the past few years, but certain artists will get my support no matter what.

To add on, i think artists like Cole and Lamar sell because they make music that touches people's souls.
