Exactly how many teachers said this? Even without going to college the average person will have had well over 60 teachers in their childhood. So how would one teacher saying this affect them so much :jbhmm:

Never been told this. You must have been some bad ass kids. Worst I ever got was my electronics prof telling me to stop sleeping in class and put in work because I breezing through the tests
Me either. If a teacher ever told you this tell the whole story. Why did they tell you that :usure:

Most of the time people are lying. I used to be a teacher. Yes, there are A LOT of racist scumbag cacettes teaching our children.

HOWEVER, I have never in my decade of teaching heard a teacher say that to a student. I never heard it when I was a kid either. These mfs be capping. They were probably just disrespectful students who got disciplined often, and they've grown up to have these grand delusions about how they were treated.

Damn, this post bring me back.

I asked my GED teacher if she could recommend me for the GED test. She said absolutely not my math isn't on par yet and I wouldn't pass (basically saying I ain't shyt.)

I was so pissed, I ended up quitting class for 5 months.

Came back and 3 months later and passed the test. 2 years later got my associates and have a decent gig with the city.

I had a teacher tell me this in 5th grade. Changed my life because in that moment I started to give a damn.

I was never a bad kid; I knew where the line was and to never cross it.

Had all those nerds confused cause my demeanor never changed, only the GPA.

them, after seeing my straight A's: :usure: :dwillhuh: "I thought you only did drugs"

me: :gucci::mjgrin: "...I do"

Years later I have learned what the difference is between having a parent or two behind you versus not having them.
I think I turned out ok, but always wonder what things would have been liked if I had people in my corner supporting me

SOHH Class of 2006
I've had a couple of teachers say this to me just cause I was the only black person in an all white classroom in a predominantly white private catholic school, and frankly I hope they are dead now.

I've made a damn good life for myself and I graduated college with a 3.9 GPA...they can suck my dikk....hating ass pieces of shyt.

I don't believe you at all. Not one, but multiple teachers told you that you weren't going to be shyt, just because you're black? And nothing came from this? :duck:

It’s never the words ‘You won’t be shyt’ it’s always saying it in a round about, slick way though...even if the student is misinterpreting it, if that statement gave them motivation, so be it

I was told that but I also deserved it. :manny:

I was skipping lessons, not doing assignments and scraping through every year. Not really bitter since I’m doing well but he had a point.
